Abstract
In parallel to the rapid progresses throughout the world, emergency medical services (EMC) have recorded a significant development in our country for the last 15 years. Its value has been better understood in the society after the 1999 Marmara earthquake. The expectations of the developing and growing society in terms of emergency medicine needs together with the rapid development in modern medicine and enhancement of medical technology leaded to a continuous requirement for improving and developing these services. In this article, national EMC and recommendations of solutions addressed to the needs have been reviewed as of December 2005.
