Abstract
Pregnant patients rarely constitute emergencies in the prehospital setting; however, they pose a particular challenge for emergency medical services personnel, as the physiological characteristics of pregnancy must be understood, pregnancy-related conditions must be included in the differential diagnosis, and specific trauma consequences must be considered. This article is based on the xABCDE and SAMPLER standard care protocols.
