[Psychiatric emergencies in the prehospital setting : interprofessional models].

Abstract
Psychiatric prehospital emergencies account for an increasing proportion and involve multiple professional disciplines. Faced with a population with somatic, psychiatric, and social challenges, various interprofessional models have been developed to improve care, limit coercion, and reduce the burden on emergency departments. They operate at different levels: upstream triage by emergency call centers, multidisciplinary co-response combining law enforcement, emergency services, and mental health, or integration of psychiatric expertise within a prehospital team with/without systematic police involvement. These different models converge towards fewer involuntary hospitalizations, less police involvement, and patient orientation that is better suited.
