Abstract

World Restart a Heart (WRAH) is a global initiative led by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) that aims to raise awareness of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), through an international campaign. OHCA is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. WRAH engages people of all ages - from children to older adults - empowering communities to recognize cardiac arrest early and act promptly (Check, Call, CPR). Over the years, numerous educational programs, public events, and awareness activities took place in schools, public places, sports venues, and other settings worldwide, demonstrating the initiative's global reach and impact. Active participation from local organisations is crucial for fully capturing WRAH's global impact and ensuring its sustainable growth. The main success of the initiative is that WRAH inspires new countries, regions and individuals to undertake creative activities and build new networks and connections all around the world every year - with the ultimate goal of saving more lives following sudden cardiac arrest.
